Front Porch Furniture Ideas that Won’t Break the Bank!

Online shopping is one of my favorite places to find the best outdoor furniture that is at an affordable price, but looks expensive too!

With many online retailers offering free shipping, it’s the most efficient way to shop.

Skip the expensive outdoor furniture stores and save a fortune furnishing your front porch and outdoor living spaces!

Here is your go-to guide on where to find the best looking outdoor furniture that fits your budget.

My Many Outdoor Living Spaces

As you know my name is “Porch Daydreamer” so outdoor decor is a specialty of mine.

Did you know I have not one but TWO front porches on my Charleston styled house?

Plus a sunroom and an outdoor patio!

Each outdoor living space is a small space and I’ve found a way to create plenty of seating…so it is like I have 4 front porches 🙂

I thought it would be helpful to share each of my outdoor spaces – not just my two front porches to give you an idea of what is possible for your front porch.

Many people ask for the measurements of my outdoor spaces, to get perspective on how much will fit in a space.

Your wish is my command! I’ve included the dimensions of each space too.

Every piece of furniture and even the accessories have a purpose.

Contains hand selected products, with affiliate marketing links where I may earn a small commission if a purchase is made. {full disclosure here}

Front Porch Furniture

To show you how many pieces of furniture you can add to a small front porch, let’s start with my lower front porch.

You’ll find Mick the Maltese enjoying the porch every chance I give him…if only he didn’t have to guard and bark each visit!

You can see I’ve maximized seating on this narrow and small front porch at only 7 ft wide by 14 ft long.

On sunny days I enjoy my morning coffee on the front porch with a good book or magazine.

In the evenings to relax, I like rocking back and forth on the porch swing.

To make it more comfortable I even upholstered the seat!

When I use the outdoor wicker ottoman / pouf, I can seat 8 people and have!

Then a little secret is I spray painted the sectional to match the rest of the furniture!

It’s a really easy project and great when you have a limited budget.

Upper Front Porch Furniture

Are you ready to see my upper front porch? Yes, I am a lucky lady to have two front porches.

This space is off of my office upstairs and when the weather is nice I love to bring my laptop outside to work.

Mick, when not in my lap, will sit on the outdoor ottoman and watch the world go by.

If you are looking for affordable ottomans, these inflatable outdoor ottomans are your solution!

They come in a wide variety of washable covers and add water to weight them down.

Plus they have a handle for carrying – the best!

Use them as extra seating or for your feet on a front porch or even on a boat! I love finding cool new products.

The other cool thing on this front porch is the square fire table.

I swear I started a trend in my neighborhood!

Why not add a fire table to your front porch? It provides warmth, so you can use your covered outdoor space all four seasons.

After debuting mine this past summer, I saw them popping up on other front porches over the fall.

Propane fire tables are a great solution because they are smokeless and can be turned on and off in seconds!

Upgrade the look with fire glass for an even prettier flame effect.

I added blue to match the coastal theme and it sparkles as the flames dance.

Are you looking to create a little privacy on your balcony or porch?

On the end of the front porch where I look at houses, I added a simple planter with trellis.

Then wove through some faux ivy…it has held up through all types of weather.

It adds a little softness to any balcony and never has to be watered.

Fenced in Side Yard

If you move to my side yard (yes side yard), you can see it is also a small space at only 8 ft wide by 10 ft long.

The neighborhood I live it doesn’t have backyards, but a communal front yard instead.

For a some privacy and for a place for Mick can go potty safely, I fenced in a little side yard.

In this small space, I’ve layered indoor/outdoor rugs and created a fire table conversation set that is cozy and comfortable.

When the temperatures get a little cooler we will sit around the fire pit and zone out. Sounds good right?

Yes, we use the fire table to cook hot dogs and make s’mores too!

All it takes is a regular propane tank (like you use for a gas grill) and you can turn the fire on in seconds…without the smokey smell.

If you didn’t know it, you can buy outdoor cushion covers that zip on and can be washed.

The cushions on the chairs were old, so I just covered them with these navy blue covers.

It’s a great way to upcycle your old cushions versus replace them.

Back Porch / Sunroom

Then if you head through the french doors from my kitchen, you will see the sunroom or “back porch”.

Again I’ve maximized the seating in a smaller space, which is 9 ft wide by 9.5 ft long.

Here you see a TV, so I can feel like I am outside when watching sports (a big Clemson Tiger football fan here!).

It’s like I’ve extended my living room right outside my back door.

Since this needed to be a more comfortable space, I added a full sized outdoor wicker sofa with thick cushions and matching chairs.

An affordable way to instantly furnish a space like this is to buy a set.

Truly my outdoor spaces are the places my closest friends enjoy the most.

Did you notice I painted the porch a different color than my house? Yes, you can do that 🙂
