5 VIRAL Products from my Social Media

When an Amazon find goes viral on my social media, I know it’s a product that solves a common problem.

You wouldn’t believe the number of requests I get “can you please send me the link to buy” that I get in my messages.

Raise your hand if you bought something because you saw it on social media? (I’m raising my hand).

Yes, it’s a new shopping era where we don’t rely on commercials anymore to find out about products, but instead love seeing other people using them in real word settings.

Contains hand selected products, with affiliate marketing links where I may earn a small commission if a purchase is made. {full disclosure here}

Viral Product 1: Zip-On Outdoor Cushion Covers

Seriously, I can’t keep up with the messages on Instagram I get asking me about these cushion covers.

A little back story, I actually worked for the company that made them. They were new to me too up until this spring and wow they are a great problem solver.

If you have perfectly good cushions, but the fabric is tired or faded these are the perfection solution!

I call it “upcycling” where you take something old and make it new again. We are helping the environment by not tossing cushions into the landfills my friends.

Now these aren’t necessarily a money saver, but they are a game changer.

Being able to easily zip off the cover and toss it in the washer has been an amazing thing.

Review Zip On Outdoor Cushion Cover

Pros

  • Water resistant
  • Fade resistant
  • Machine washable
  • Year round use

Cons

  • Limited colors
  • Odd straps for attaching
SHOP Cushion Covers (make sure you measure)

Don’t be surprised when you look at these on Amazon and see “dry clean only”. It’s a mistake…trust me I’ve washed mine several times this season.

So the straps as a con. The idea is you can attach them to your chairs, which on the surface is a great thing.

The straps were SO long, gray not matching the cover itself, and hung down.

They never looked right not matter what I did! I ended up taking a pair of scissors and snipping them off. You have my permission to do the same 🙂

The pillow covers on the chairs are the BEST too and are machine washable plus so affordable for a pack of 2!

They’ve held up, along with the cushion covers in the SW sun for 2 summers.

Viral Product 2: Soft Close Cabinet Hinge Adapters

Who has loud people in their home that just love to slam the cabinets, when you are trying to sleep?

Ha ha, it’s not the people it’s the cabinets that are the problem. If your home doesn’t have soft close hinges, there is a fix for it.

I actually learned about these from my neighbor who is a general contractor.

review Soft Close Cabinet Hinge Adapters

Pros

  • Easy to install
  • Cabinet are instantly soft close
  • Stops all banging

Cons

  • Time consuming to install in a full kitchen
  • Cost adds up for a full kitchen
  • No drawer option
SHOP SOFT CLOSE HINGE ADAPTERS

They are GENIUS soft-close hinge adapters that anyone with a power drill can install on their cabinet doors.

Guess what? I have a FULL tutorial on how-to install soft-close hinge adapters.

All it takes is one little screw to attach them and then they are fully adjustable.

Sorry, they don’t work on drawers and the solutions I have searched for are a pain to install. So I skipped those.

Viral Product 3: Plastic Mums

Wow, as I typed that they sound awful right? After years of buying mums each fall and losing them to slugs or lack of water, I gave up.

As beautiful as mums are, I wanted a similar look that lasted all fall and a couple of weeks. It felt like throwing money away and with inflation who wants that!

This year I decided to go faux, after having a ton of success with faux geraniums on my front porch. They’ve handle the weather and haven’t faded.

These red orange plastic flowers look so good that they fool the bees (that makes me a little sad), but I have real pansies they can pollenate instead 🙂

I filled my planters with a pack of 20, which is how they are sold. Just stick them directly into the potting soil.

Then added some real grasses I cut in the neighborhood to pull the look together.

You could also buy faux pampas grass stems too!

An easy no-water outdoor arrangement that I will keep up through November.

Before storing for next fall, I plan to wash them at the end of the season in the top rack of my dishwasher.

Viral Product 4: Remote Control Wall Sconces

Well this was a WHOLE project and last time I looked had 350K views on this one!

Being able to hang wall sconces without drilling or wiring is a game changer.

Plus I found a better way to add puck lights to create up and down light for a brighter look.

Here is the full tutorial: Hang Wall Sconces ANYWHERE! No Wiring or Drilling

The thing that I took forever to find were the PERFECT battery operated lights.

These are smaller and fit over a regular socket without any glue. This was an improvement over other ideas I saw online.

Sticking two together was the best hack and took 5 seconds. Plus you can still change the batteries.

Revew Small Under Cabinet puck lights

Pros

  • Low profile and small diameter
  • Battery operated
  • Remote control with timer
  • Dimmable
  • Warm LED lights

Cons

  • Could be brighter
  • Batteries are not rechargeable
shop battery operated puck lights

The timer function definitely will help preserve battery life. I love that I can flip them on and set them to turn off in an hour.

Finding LED lights that were warm was a real challenge and these have the prettiest light after trying several other options and types.

I’d use these puck lights for wall sconces in any room of the house, but wouldn’t rely on them as the primary light in the room.

Plus with the same mounting squares I use in the tutorial, you can use these for under cabinet lights too.

Viral Product 5: Reeded Glass Film

Have a glass door or window and want to trade up the look? Or maybe you want a little blur for privacy or to hide an ugly view?

That’s what I needed. The window in the guest bathroom looks onto a roof…yuck right?

So I wanted a solution that made the window look more expensive, didn’t block any light, and blurred out the view as you look into the room.

Problem solved and it installed in minutes! I used static cling reeded glass film.

Ideas for Reeded Glass Film

  • Glass shower walls for privacy
  • Front door glass
  • Bathroom windows (like over a tub)
  • Garage door windows
  • Glass kitchen cabinet doors
  • Patio door windows

Revew reeded glass film

Pros

  • Affordable
  • Easy to install
  • Temporary / Removable
  • UV protection
  • Multiple sizes

Cons

  • Repositioning is difficult once adhered
shop reeded glass film

The film is SO affordable and adds a high-end look. No one will know it isn’t real reeded glass if you install it correctly.

What I can tell you about installation is that once you place it and push out the soap bubbles, don’t pull it off to move it.

If you do, start the process over after you clean off the glass. I did this and made it look a little dirty.

It’s not hard to install just be mindful of this!
